A unique tour can be made in the Porcelain Complex. Visitors can, first of all, watch a film on the triumphal spread of the mythic porcelain of Herend; then the process of porcelain production, from shaping to painting, is presented in the miniature manufactory. In the coffee shop and restaurant of the porcelain works, food is served on original Herend porcelain, and one can also buy the world-famous products in the shop.

In 1826, Vince Stingl founded a small manufactory in Herend that carried out stoneware production experiments. The enterprise was taken over by Mór Fischer in 1839. He had new ideas and brave visions. At this time, it was difficult to replace the porcelain bought from the Far East; hence the aristocracy also supported the new owner. At first, the factory was busy with the reproduction of Chinese porcelain, but the attempt to make an original product of Herend was successful: exhibitions in London, Paris and New York brought great acknowledgement for the manufactory. Success boosted the number of orders, and the tables of royal families were soon ornamented with the porcelain of Herend. The success story has continued. The heritage of Mór Fischer is carried on by Herendi Porcelánmanufaktúra Rt., and the company allows visitors to have an insight into the secrets of Herend.
